Fluctus Quadratum are a synth and keyboard led progressive rock band who aim to take you back to the serious progressive rock era, with a considerable modern twist. Their style is a mix between the sweeping riffs of Pink Floyd, the technical ability of Marillion and the modern soundscapes of Steven Wilson.
The band was formed in 2019 in a small rural village in East Sussex, England. The father and son duo, Rick and Jopheus, soon built a band around Jopheus' music. Rick has had a lot of experience gigging and touring with previous bands, including Cry Wolf, Tricks upon Travellers and Pre-Med, performing in venues such as The Brighton Dome, O2 Sheffield and the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire. Jopheus, his autistic son, found that his obsession with nuclear fusion was replaced by an obsession with prog rock, synthesisers and keyboards. Jopheus has a natural aptitude all of his own, motivated by the greats, such as; Keith Emerson, Rick Wakeman, Adam Holzman, Jordan Rudess and Mark Kelly. Jopheus’ writing skills soon became the impetus needed to start a buzz, and so, Fluctus Quadratum was born. Before any of the songs were completed, Fluctus Quadratum had their first festival gig booked and the rest, as they say, is history! Curtis Adamczyk joined on vocals in May 2022. Curtis has been singing with Distric Myths and Master Kush's Circus over several years and even appeared on Blue Peter as a boy! He also starred in the horror film "Dogged" and had a song featured on the credits. Cici Powell-Melkonian joined on bass in April 2023 and Mark Worledge joined in February 2025, completing the lineup. Things are moving forward very well.....
What we are mainly about is writing and playing music that will be enjoyed by many people over, hopefully, many years.

Fluctus Quadratum are available to play gigs and festivals and would love to support other bands at their gigs.
We also support Ian's Chain (a fantastic charity who help people in crisis) following the tragic suicide of a previous band member. This is a matter very close to our hearts and we dedicate this band to our fallen musical brother, David Saunders, gone but never, ever forgotten. With Ian's Chain, we stand united against suicide.
